My Story

Hi friends!

Karlie Burnham here. I am grateful you found my website! I love being a picture book author and connecting with my readers.

As a mother of five wonderful and ENERGETIC boys, life is never dull, and they keep me dreaming and imagining big. I love helping parents develop a healthy and loving connection with their littles as they read and gather close together, which is why I created my first two published picture books.

The third book I am now excited to share with you! My latest, “My Monster Eats My Vegetables”, is an ode to nutrition presented in a fun and playful picture book fashion.

With five boys, vegetables were the last word they wished to hear, and this colorful and informative book comes from that dilemma to assist with growing healthy bodies.

You will find some characters from my previous books making special appearances in my latest book. Let me know if you spot them.

Why should I be the one to write a nutrition book?

Nutrition has always been one of my passions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness from Arizona State University and have continued my education, working and serving as a nutrition counselor, life coach, and personal trainer. I have also worked in the physical therapy world for several years and enjoy helping others find their lives again through good health and movement.

A bit more about me:

I am a multi-generational Arizonan (aka Desert Rat) and love the desert’s unique and simple beauty. My husband and I have been married for almost 18 years, and we enjoy hiking and adventuring wherever we can.

I am passionate about volunteering in my children’s schools and teaching basic nutrition and healthy living in the classrooms. I am also available for school visits to yours. Contact me through email at:  karlieburnhamwrites@gmail.com to arrange a visit.
